The BVRI that I have contains 16 cd's. Purchased quite a while ago so can't remember how much it cost. Margaret

Coverage is very patchy, you might find lots of information or none at all. Some of the marriages give father's names so I've found a few of those helpful. I think you have to order from the distribution centre but you could ask at the local LDS centre.

Actually, I don't advise buying them. The coverage is very patchy. I can't say that I've found anything on them that has helped me with my tree. If you'd like me to look up some names for you, just say the word. Margaret

Am I being thick again? What's a BIVRI disc? Also, I had no idea there was an LDS centre in Garretts Green Lane - that's just down the road from me. Is it somewhere you can go to look for info, or just a mailing centre, does anyone know?

Hi Karen, It stands for British Isles Vital Record index. Has lots os things on them but someone who already has them will tell you more. Also yes you can lookup old record in the LDS too. They can also order copies of anything you wish to view. Betty

Hi Betty I order these discs from the www.familysearch.org site and recieved within 3 days £28 incl p+p. It worked out cheaper than what they were being bid for on ebay. I also did not get much information from them either, but ,maybe will help with future searches. Isobel

I just checked the Familysearch website and they quote a price of $20 US. I'm sure that's only 10 pounds sterling? Do we get them that much cheaper over here? I'm in Canada. I purchased mine many years ago and can't remember what I paid. Margaret
