I had a go with the free trial in the end but it didn't find anyone for me. I had a lot better luck with the lost cousins website where tey match you like hot matches but do it by getting everyone to enter their relatives with their entries in the 1881 census. It seems to find plenty of accurate matches. I love it.

Hi, I tried last year & signed up. They kept sending me 'possible links' , a bit like 'Hot matches', they usually had no similarity to my tree. I got so fed-up I unsubcribed. Ken

Has anyone tried onegreatfamily.com for english ancestors? It sounds good: ''OneGreatFamily' is a cooperative effort between you and the rest of the world. It is an online genealogical service which allows everyone to combine their knowledge and data to build one huge, shared database.' Apparently they can automatically add new branches for you and merge duplicates together. They look for 'handprints' which means that they don't just match by a persons names and dates etc, but by their near family's names and dates as well. It is meant to be independant of country, but it does rely on the users submitting their trees, or they would have no data. Is their UK data any good yet?
