Sherry, If he's a McConnell, where's his birth? If he's Emily's and born before the marriage then he can't be a McConnell. He may have been a McConnell when he married but it doesn't mean he was born as one. Rose |

This seems more likely to be Emily because it covers Bermondsey: Births Mar 1899 McConnell Emily Frances St. Olave 1d 198 Emily B Stemp is on the census. Rose |

thanks ever so much for tryin julie - I wont know which one will be the right birth cert will i? maybe i should get the mcconnell/stemp marriage cert just to see what it says? ive tried ancestry, familysearch and i just cant work her out!! I cant even find her death registered as Elizabeth McConnell? |

Im trying to trace back my Gt Grandmother - ELIZABETH MARY MORRIS b1867 Bermondsey, London. I have her in 1901 census with James McConnell b1867 Bermondsey and their children - Rhudolph, Emily. but I cant find her birth, or marriage to James McConnell and I cant trace her family back through the census years! Although on the 1901 census there is also a Walter Morris with his children, which could possibly be her brother??? but i cant find them together on previous census - so i cant find her parents? I have traced James McConnells family back ok. If anyone can help I would be really grateful!!!!! |
