I'm glad it might be helpful. I'm not too surprised about the different places, I have one relative, lived Greenwich, died Whitechapel but buried back in Greenwich. Had trouble finding his death as I kept looking in Greenwich. Maybe John was in some sort of hospital. I'd be very tempted to buy the death cert to see who the informant was. Don't know how to get more on Charles. You could contact Southwark archives by email and see if they can tell you anymore as you have the date etc. their website is: www.southwark.gov.uk Good luck, and please let me know how you get on. Thanks for all that Selena. The Charlotte 1860 is the one I have the birth cert. for but as I said no father and no MMN on it. The birth you found for Charles in the workhouse I am convinced this must be the right one but don't know how to get a birth cert. without the extra details. The death for John Parsons 1860 is a possibility, as Charlotte (Mother) is shown as a widow on 1861 Census but wondered why he is in East End of London when rest of family in SE. I'll keep on it, and let you know when/if I confirm things. Thanks again. Linda

Hello, I found the entry for Charles at the workhouse on the familysearch website, also known as the IGI. Re: Mary Perkins, not mine unfortunately, her father was George and she was born Deptford 1839, so a bit old for your Charles! Have a play on familysearch, as there are two Parsons families with Charlotte as mother! Selena

Selina, where did you find Chas. Parsons, March 1856 - St Mary Workhouse, Southwark. It sound like he is the one I'm looking for. This Charles Wm Parsons married Mary Ann Perkins 4th July, 1881 her fathers name was Richard Perkins a Coachman, not the same one is it?

Glitter, thanks for helping. this is what I have: John Parsons (C1836) m Charlotte ????(C1826) children Joseph P Parsons(C1848) Charles Wm. Parsons(C1855) Charlotte Parsons(1860) 1851 Census show John, Charlotte, Joseph & Charles. 1861 Census shows Charlotte (widow) Joseph, Charles & Charlotte (5mths). I sent for young Charlottes Birth cert. to get mother Charlottes maiden name. Cert. came back no father and no maiden name for mother. Sent for what I thought was Chas.Wm. birth cert. 1855 Mar. Lambeth Vol.1d Page 311 this has arrived no fathers name and again no mothers maiden name.(Think I may have ordered the wrong one because mother is shown as Ann Parsons and Chas. middle name is missing) but I can't find anything else which might be it. I do have Chas. Wm. marriage cert.to Mary Ann Perkins which does confirm his father was John Parsons.

I would like the birth of Charles William Parsons born 1855(C) as I wish to confirm his father and mother as John Parsons & Charlotte ???? I have just received a cert. which I thought was him but I now have my reservations about this.
