It seems that GR have 'lumped' them together. M. Steer |

But beware Margaret, if you click on the 'see contact's tree' in Contacts you will most probably be taken to your OWN tree but in the name of an ancestor! See Sheila's linking up with other trees thread. You should still be able to access shared trees through the drop-down menu on the right of the tree page. |

When I go into 'Shared Trees', I get Message Centre. People who have replied by PM to messages I've posted on the Tips Board - they are not related to me and we do not share any relative. M. Steer |

It's poorly set out, but I think the idea is that when someone contacts you about John Smith, when you click the tree you find out exactly which John Smith in your tree your contact is talking about. It's what we've asked for, just badly explained. (It took me a long time to work out why so many contacts seemed to have identical trees.) |

thats why its good now its easier to delete ones that dont relate to you I had 43 pages in out box now got 15 and 8 in sent as and 4 pages in contacts instead of 20 before very tedious to delete them. it will be good when they sort out deleted contacts reappearing keep getting odd few Jeanette |

There looks like a bug as you sometimes get the other persons tree, but on other occasions it is yours. Hopefully this will get fixed soon. Picking up on Margaret's point she is correct but this is the way it has always worked. Contacts has never, to my knowledge, differentiated between ad-hoc messages between members and those relating to names in tree, other than that for the latter, the name you have made contact on is displayed. It now shows the date as well which is something that people have asked for. Previously there was a separate Shared Tree List as well but this was removed because it was unwieldy for anyone ho had more than a few names. |

Margaret, One of the enhancements that a number of us suggested in January was for the ability to create folders to allow us to sort our contacts and messages. This means you could have separate folders for research and general chit chat etc. |

I've had many 'shared trees' over the past few days I have helped a few people out with information but I seem to be getting trees to view from people I don't know ! |

Yes but clicking on the drop down list only takes you to the letter c, by first name. Im trying to view a tree at the letter J. Whenever I click on their tree via contacts list all I get is my tree. Almost accused this person of Stealing! I still cant see her tree! Jackie |

Jaqueline, Go to your tree, click on the Other Trees button, top right, a window then opens with the names of the trees that you can access. If the one you want is not displayed, then simply scroll down within the little window until you find it, using the scroll wheel or the up-down keys. |

went through contacts to look at tree from a new contact then after awhile realized still looking at own tree aaaggghhh!!!! taking long enough to sort gremlins out. Jaqueline, its a pain I had to search on thier tree to find the name I wanted. as long as tree is showing you tree is open to you it will be in drop down list Jeanette |
