Jack ............... it's perfectly OK to give your card details to ancestry for a free trial. BUT you must make sure that you email them, or phone them at the free phone number, to cancel your trial well before the end of the free preiod. Otherwise, they charge your card for the full amount. They will give you an email contact address in the confirming email they send to you, and there should also be the free phone number there. It is better to use the email than the phone as this gives a record that you did contact before a certain date. |

Jack when you take out the free trial also send an email at the same time cancelling it at the end of the trial you should have no problems that way Norah |

Hi Jack It's because, if you don't cancel before your free trial has expired, when the time is up they will debit your card and you will be signed up. Chrissie |

why do I have to give my bank details to get FREE trial on Ancestry. I have Just bought FTM and find puting info in no problem but findind out how to connect to the net via FTM not so easy. Have been asked for my address and phone number, WHY? and then thay ask for bank details. Removed other thread because no reply, thought I would put it another way. Sorry to be so thick, I hope to be as good as you clever people one day. Regards Jack |
