I have a death cert that has what appears to be two causes of death a) Cerebral abscess b) unsure about this - poss Ch' otitis media then there is a gap and it has pm Would this have been found on Post Mortum? It says after this certified by A. Lorrance B.M. what does B.M stand for? Anyone know how you would get a cerebral abscess, we thought they had died in childbirth! |

Otitis media would be an infection of the middle ear. Perhaps the infection spread and went to the brain. The Ch would probably mean chronic, meaning the infection kept coming back. The pm would mean that there was a post mortem after death, which is always the case if the death wasn't expected. Kath. x |
