Hello Kate I wonder if you could find a couple of people for me on the 1901 census? The first one is Moses Williams Vaughan born in Wales 1856. The second one is William Wilson Alexander born in Liverpool but no dob given on the 1881 census. I'd particularly like to know who they were married to. Thanks in advance Barbara

Hello Kate You found me some useful information the other day and I wondered if you could find any more? I'm looking for the 1861 census entries for William Barker born Bury 1798 and his family. There are nine sons as far as I know - Mrs Barker I think had passed away, not surprising, really! Thanks in advance Barbara

Thanks would appreciate help My grandmother Maria Cahill was born at 130 Thornborough Street Newcastle upon Tyne December 1885 her parents were Edward Cahill and Catherine Cahill although this was spelt Carhill on the birth certificate. I cannot find them anywhere else on the cenus records. I know that her parents came from Waterford in Ireland. Catherine's maiden name was Keith and she and Edward were born approximately 1860. I think Maria may have been in service in 1901 so that may explain why she is not on any cenus in Newcastle. She married my grandfather (in Newcastle upon Tyne) John Taylor who came from Stoke so maybe she was down in the Stoke area and met him there. Help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hello............I wonder if you can help at all with my search, I have tried for ages to find information on my great grandfather Henry Thomas Morgan I think he was born around 1862/64 and I know he died in 1941, I also know that he married Ada Mary Ann Eastabrook in Cardiff Wales in 1884 2nd qtr Vol 11a page 448. I have not got the marriage cert as I don't know where to send for it or the cost (I now live in Australia) I only know his year of death from a memorial card so haven't found any info on that at all, but his birth seems to be very evasive, I am not good at knowing how to look these things up anyway, it is all a mystery to me I am afraid, but would love to learn how. So when you have time, any info you can find would be great, thanks so much. Sylvia in Perth WA.

Hello Barbara I'm afraid it doesn't give the cause of death but the reference after her name would get you the certificate if you wanted to get it. Kate

Barbara Report 11 Apr 2007 17:43

Thanks for that Kate. I think you're right, that's definitely nit the right Ann Barker. Her mother did marry again but the father in law bit is all wrong. How sad about poor little Amelia. Does the entry give cause of death or not? Thanks for trying Barbara

Hello Barbara This entry from the Lancashire BMD site confirms what Kate has said. It looks like the marriage took place either in a Catholic Church or at the reigistry office. The number next to it is the one to quote if you want to buy the cert. BARKER Ann STAFFORD James West Derby, Register Office or Registrar Attended Liverpool REG_WD/174/104 Best wishes Amanda

Hello Kate I wonder if you could possibly do a couple of look-ups for me? The first one is a marriage. The name is Ann Barker born Liverpool 1873. I think she was married in 1898 in West Derby October - December. the record is in Volume 8b, page 962. If it's the right one her father's name is Septimus Barker although he was deceased by then. Could you tell me who she married and any other info there might be. The other one is Amelia Barker born Liverpool 1881. Can you find her in the 1901 census? Many thanks in advance Barbara

G'day Kate, Thanks for the offer I have a bit of a curly one for you. I am looking for info on my paternal great grandfather James Edward Lewington c1882. All I know is he married Sarah Elizabeth Lay in Witney Oxfordshire on 11 Dec 1917. If you can find a death listing for him it might have his parents (hopefully). The witnesses too the marriage were Sarah's Mother Elsie Lay and Florence E Hopkins. Anything you could find would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Alex
