I have a relative who was in prison in 1901 for stealing some wood, and another time for mistreating horses! He was given hard labour, which would you would have thought would be enough to put him off the first time. I obtained this information from a cousin who had been researching the same line, and i think she probably got the info from the local records office. Maybe look at the website for the local archives contents? |

Hi, I have been researching the Sauce family and found a distant relative of mine, Edward (born 1866), was actually a prisoner at His Majestys Prison, North Manchester in 1901. I am now curious to find why he was in prison!! Does anybody know how i can find this information? Thank you for any suggestions. |
