Horatia posted this link a while back about marriage licences. www.yourfamilytreemag(.)co(.)uk/page/yft?entry=marriage_licenses_a_useful_resource I have located a copy of a marriage bond and allegation for one of my relatives given in 1778, buckinghamshire archives are going copy and post it out to me. |

The marriage licence bonds can contain quite a bit of info - usually the name of two bondsmen and their occupation (and relationship to the married couple, if any), it might say which parish each party was from, their ages, the occupation of the man, the date on which they intended to marry and in which parish etc. Which part of England were they wed? I have the Wiltshire marriage licence bonds on disk, if that's any help to you. Athena |
