Dockyard accident... Records?

My own dad had an accident at the docks in Rotherhithe and he was also blinded in one eye. I understand the London docks info on accidents would be at Kew, not sure about Portsmouth - have a look at National archives site. |

My grandfather, b. 1875, died 1956 was blind in one eye... I was told that this was a result of an accident in Portsmouth Dockyard, where he was a shipwright... Would there be records of this? .. Would they be available for searching and where are they likely to be. Would there be a closure time?.date of possible accident is unknown. |
