I have just used my Scotlands Peoples' credits. My grandmother Mary Isabella Johnston had two sisters that I know about - Catherine Wishart and Annie. I have just viewed the 1901 census - the family is entered under JohnstonE. (Glasgow Govan) My grandmother is there. Catherine Wishart is not there. But there is a Robina - have found her birth - 8th March 1899 Dumfries. There was one death for Robina Johnston in Glasgow up to 1911, but it is not this Robina (wrong parents). Could Robina be Annie??? No one ever mentioned Robina. Her father's name is Robert, so it looks as though she was named after him.

Thanks for your help. The Johnston family were from Fetteresso Kincardineshire - not far from Aberdeen. The mother's family were Richardsons and from Grange Banffshire - again not far from Aberdeen. It looks as if Catherine Wishart Johnston might have been in hospital - there is a Catherine Johnston age 3 as a patient at Maryhill, but place of birth given as Glasgow not Dumfries. I know she married but died young from TB. Still in the dark about Robina / Annie. Annie Drever notified her mother's death in 1939 (Glasgow).

Hi Elizabeth I'm just popping out but will check Kincardine MI's tonight or tomorrow. Are you on http://scotfamtree.11.forumer*com? If so leave a query on the Tier 1 help board and I'll see what I can do - or PM me on here. Robina I've not seen as an Annie but you never know. Back later...

Right: 1) Woody - I haven't used the site you mentioned. Will send you PM 2) Maureen - I don't know when Annie married. I haven't found her birth yet - that's my next job. I would imagine she married some time after 1918. F found my grandparent's marriage in 1919, so chuffed about that. Thanks for your help. 3) YMof2 - I don't know if Annie had any children. My grandmother never talked about her much. She talked more about the other sister Catherine. If I find out more and I think it's of any use I'll pm you.

Helena - I have just registered with the site mentioned. I'm now waiting for the administrator to allow me access. Yes, I did get my credits - some for myself, and I made my husband register so I could use them again! Really helped, as it gets expensive searching/viewing. Many thanks.
