hi, i have infront of me my grandfathers army record book. in it it lists his (1st) wife and children with names and dob's. however, i have searched ancestry full records and i am unable to find a record of the births. can anyone see if they can find them for me. rodney edward haylock - 23/04/1934 shirley rose haylock - 12/09/1935 both were born in kent, their father is reginald edward haylock and he was serving with the royal west kent regiment, mother was edith l f barns

Hi Yummy mummy, are you sure they were born in Kent... could it not be that they were posted abroad for that period. I had trouble finding my g grandfather and it turned out he was born in India as his father was posted there in the army!! Clare x

all i have to work with is what is hand written in the army record book. that is the name, date of birth and then place of birth and sex. their father came back from india in 1933
