Depends on what your looking for. For Scotland this is what you can get online » Births 1855-1906 » Marriages 1855-1931 » Deaths 1855-1956 » Births & Baptisms 1553-1854 » Banns & Marriages 1553-1854 » Wills & Testaments Search 1513-1901 (Free) Anything after those dates requires a trip to the registers office, finding someone else thats going, getting the GROS to do a lookup for you (very very expensive) or you could try joining this site http://scotfamtree.11.forumer*com/ They offer a look up service at a small price and are a wealth of information, very very helpful and friendly.
