I got into an afull muddle when I reinstalled AOL+ YES, I DID lose my favourites etc!! I reckon the best bet is to use the 'Live Help' ONLINE, see what advice they can give you. Sometimes when I open AOL, I get a box saying It needs to install new files BUT I close it + open it again then it works fine without doing anything!! Ann

Sorry, I haven't been online much Marion. That is the same box that I get! If you just close AOL + open it again it should work as normal. If it doesn't, then switch your pc off +on again + try again........this usually works for me. Re-installing is a last resort. Did you try the online help? Regards Ann

Thanks again Ann. This morning It took ages 10min or more. it first said I had no internet connection. I closed down and, started again. I still takes ages to get going. When I get to the sign in bit,it even takes ages. PC seems very slow at times..even to shut down a box. I will look at the help bit, cant go on like this..it is driving me nut's lol. Marion

I think it should be ok to re-install? my kids seem to do this a lot with no probs. I have the opposite problem: went on holiday and left a big teenager at home; my laptop has never been the same. I have uninstalled the culprit, aol, using 'programme remove', but guess what, whenever I try any new website, up comes aol to interfere. Am now going to remove all my files and use original 'rescue discs' to re-start computer from the beginning.

Thank you everyone. I have now downloaded the AOL checkup. I looked at the one click fixes, but didn't know what I was fixing lol. I must get to bed as I have been on here since 6-15...checking my email then I got side tracked, as you do. Thank again. Marion

Hi Run the computer check up, then when it asks you if you want it to do one click fix say yes, you shouldn't lose everything , I haven't when I've used it. Hope it works OK Helena
