Hello Margaret, thankyou for your offer. Could you have a look to see if you have a Theophilus Iseley/Isley baptism anywhere. I know one Theophilus got married late 1790's to a Sarah Whybrow. Also could you see if there is a burial for Sarah Iseley/Isley within a few years of late 1790's. A long shot. Thanks Hilary. x

Hi Margaret, May I please ask for help. I am in Sydney NSW Australia, and I am quite certain that one of my ancestors was from Cambridgeshire. He has a very popular surname, so I will understand if you are unable to help. John Ellington SMITH was born in Cambridgeshire, England around 1841. I do NOT have any parents for him, but on the NSW birth certificates for his children his THEN age appears. He was married in New Zealand to a Mary Ann Hunt in 1881, but I have not been able to find that marriage. If it helps with first name searches, their children's names included Reuben, Nellie and Rebecca. I descend from Rebecca's marriage. I am in contact with Nellie's descendants, as Nellie and Rebecca married two brothers and their children were raised together. None of us have found any info about John Ellington Smith despite being genes reunited members for several years. We have had many 'Hot Matches' and nothing actually matched. Now we have John Ellington as his full first name and zero hot matches! So its really a huge brickwall we are facing. None of the records indicate a villiage or town in Cambridgeshire. His middle name has been remembered by his children and their descendants. I cant get his death certificate without his parents names unless I want to purchase just about every death record for a John Smith, and I think there are better ways to spend my hard earned dollars. If I can return the favour, please ask me - I can get to the NSW State Archives. Cheers, From the Land Down Under.

I have the Baptism, Marriage and Burial Indices for Cambridgeshire. If anyone needs a 'look up'. I must stress, though, they are not Parish Registers. M. Steer
