Annie Maud Powell was born in june 1879 in madeley shropshire. I have her birth cert and she appears on the 1881 census with parents Richard and Sarah Ann Powell .She then disappears !!!!. I have checked through deaths 1881 to 1892, i have checked marriages and various versions of the spelling of Powell.I have checked 1901 census too .Just don't know where to look next . any suggestions please ! christine |

Hi Christine - I hope you stumble across her at some time. I know how frustrating it is. My husband's great-grandfather appears on the 1841 census and then disappears until the 1871 census, when he is married. As a young man he obviously leaves his home town of Whitby and goes off somewhere to return later. Can't find him at all on the 1851 and 1862 censuses, and I've been looking for years now! Best wishes |
