Are you trying to find a marriage between people with those 2 names? Have you cosidered that Elizabeth MORRIS may have been a maiden name...but she remarried as a widow? Gwyn |

Each couple appears together on the same page......in the same volume, the same qtr and the same year. If even one of the refs is different, then the two people concerned could not have married each other. Every aspect of the GRO record must be identical.......... Reg |

The same page numbers will appear for the same district each quarter. The year is just as important a part of the reference as the vol and page number. Anne |

Can someone help. Ive just looked up a marriage that has the same reference for each person 1d 220 - but in different years?? Can you have the same reference number in different years or is the reference unique? I found Elizabeth Morris, St Saviour Sept 1881 -1d 220 and James Stemp, St Saviour June 1895 - 1d 220 I really thought I had at last found what i was looking for but not so sure now? Any help greatly appreciated!!! |
