birth and death?

Hi, i have a death certificate for a child that was only 1 hour old, would there have been a birth cerificate for them as well? Many thanks, Sally |

Sally, if the child was born alive there should be a birth certificate. As you know the date of death you should be able to search quite easily on the Ancestry BMD index. If you haven't got a subscription you can register for free and search the index or if you give me name and date I will have a look Jennifer |

There seems to be no registered birth, only a death. |

The name is John Stedeford died 20th June 1936, lived for only 1 hour. So the birth date would be the same.. Thamks for any help, Sally |

The birth is registered:- John Stedeford, mother's maiden name Young June qtr. 1936, Lambeth, 1d, 250. and the death:- John Stedeford, age 0 June qtr. 1936, Lambeth, 1d, 165 Kath. x |
