Member Since: February 2003 Posts: 35 Send Message	Dizzy Very good site. Wish I'd known about it when my daughter's class project was the Victorians last year! She really got into it - the highlight being when the class went to a local 'stately home' and the education staff there dressed all the kids up as various types of servant. Amongst many other activities they had the kids cleaning carpets with used tea leaves, cleaning out the fireplaces, polishing brass, churning butter (which was taken back to school for a taste test - verdict was 'lovely') and writing with quill pens. I did wonder if the latter activity had come from a slightly earlier era?? but six months later she's still into calligraphy in a big way. I went along as a helper and just loved seeing the kids have so much fun whilst learning. If only we had had these resources when I was 10 years old.........!

Member Since: April 2004 Posts: 120 Send Message	I found this website ages ago and saved it as I thought it was really intersting. http://www.victorians.asp-host.co.uk/day/home.htm It has just come in really handy as my 10 year old daughter is studying the Victorians this term at school (year 5). I loved the 'day in the life' bit!
