Hi again Georgina, Thanks I will give it a try anyway and see how it goes, it would be a lot quicker as I have been doing one census, then going back in again to lookup another for the same person. Taking me forever too!! Thanks Betty |

Hi Betty, no what I meant is if you want to have the 1861,1871 & 1881 census open at the same time,so you can just flick from year to year you can have different pages open at the same time in your browser at the bottom of your computer screen. Sorry if it's confusing, I confuse myself sometimes. Georgina. |

Hi again Geogina, Sorry about this as I am not sure what you mean. Is it after I enter the details on the home page I have to hold the Ctrl botton and then press N it will open all the census on different pages. I am Very thick with computers!! Betty |

Betty if you hold the controle button on your computer & press N it will open a new page and then you can have differenct census's open on different pages. Georgina. |

Hello Georgina, Thank you for your reply, I wondered how people managed to do an 1841, 1851 adn 1861 census so quickly for someone. I have been trying to search census for people on GR but I am not very quick at it as I don't know all the areas in England but I am trying. Thanks again. Betty |

Betty if you enter the details of the person you are searching for on the home page it should bring them up on all census's, as long as their name is spelt the same on each census. Georgina. |

I am new to Ancestry only bought it for a month to search a few scottish census. Anyway if you find a family in say the 1871 census is there any quick way to see the same family in the 1881 and 1891 census or do you just have to begin a new search for each census. Betty |
