In the Times Newspaper dated 11.02.1848 there is an article on the attempted murder of one of my ancestors. On an application for a pension from Trinity House dated 11/05/1851 it states that my ancestor lost the use of her right arm due to several severe stabbings inflicted by a person now transported. The Person who inflicted the injuries was 19 year old George Mason. Is there anyway I can find out when he was transported. I am hoping this date will help me to find the actual trial details where I hope to find out more about my family. Many thanks Irene

Hey Irene Do you know where the incident took place? I know that, for Scotland, you can search the National Archives of Scotland online catelogue for court details. Just usually gives you the name of the person accused, crime, where, verdict ect but then you can look up the actual documents at the archives which i assume give far more details. Mhairi
