Thanks for your replies. I've been searching the IGI and believe I have found her christening: 14 Jun 1818 Church Lancashire England Parents: Samuel Porrit Esther I looked up Church - when I first found her birth I didn't realised it was the name of the town!! I have also found Samuel and Esther's marriage in Church.

not sure if this helps at all. Location Close to the town centre, Foxhill Bank is 1/2 mile south-west of Church and Oswaldtwistle railway station in the valley of Tinker Brook, a tributary of the River Hyndburn. From the main road, Union Road, turn down Mill Hill opposite the cenotaph, past the fire station and follow the road downhill to the small car park by the reserve entrance. There is a train service to Church and Oswaldtwistle station and a bus service from Accrington and Blackburn. Cycle Route

My great-great-grandmother Mary Porritt was born in Foxhill Bank Lancashire c. 1818. Does anyone know what parish it was in? Help appreciated.
