Can anyone advise me what I am doing wrong on Ancestry? I am looking for a birth and a marriage. When I put the year of birth in plus 5 yrs in 1945 it keeps bringing up the 1800's. Is that what it is suppose to do and I just have to trawl every page? its the same with the marriage as well. Thankyou Marcelle

I'm afraid you have to trawl page by page for entries that late

ancestry only goes to about 1913 ish in the index, you will have to do a page by page search..

If you are looking for 1945, then you will have to trawl through each page and use the full version at the top. The section below that, the partial indexed one, is just that, partial. It is not complete and later years of the 1900s are almost non existent.

Use this for marriages (minus brackets) http://content.ancestry(.)co.uk/iexec/?htx=List&dbid=8965&offerid=0%3a7858%3a0 This for births........ http://content.ancestry(.)co.uk/iexec/?htx=List&dbid=8964&offerid=0%3a7858%3a0 You have to view every image until you find the right one. At least nowadays it is FREE....... Reg
