Yes this is the information I have from the census in 1901, which is why I cant understand why I cant find a birth or a marriage Cert for Henry. But thank you for all your assistance so far. :-0)

I've looked for the marriage in FreeBMD, and there's no sign of it. There is a marriage for a Henry William Burnett in Woolwich in 1891, but not to an Elizabeth. The only Elizabeth from Pimlico of the right age in earlier censuses is Elizabeth Lucas, but there's no sign of a marriage between her and a Henry Burnett.

Where did the name Ely come from? One of the children's birth certificates? I'm wondering if you might have misread it. Have a look at this marriage: Marriages Dec 1887 (>99%) BURNETT Henry Portsea 2b 900 WAY Elizabeth Jane Portsea 2b 900 In the 1881 census there's an Elizabeth J Way aged 19 living with her parents in Portsea, Hants, who'd be the right age to be the Elizabeth Burnett in the 1901 census. The place of birth doesn't match, though - Portsea's in Hampshire, and Pimlico's in London/Middlesex.

no I havent got Henry Williams (Senior) birth cert but the census puts him round about 1864. Still looking for him, but not found him yet. lol

Would say from all the birth refs that they more than likely married Woolwich.

Hi Can anyone give me any ideas where next I can search for the marriage of both sets of my great grandparents. I have been unable to find the marriage of a Charles Sims to an Elizabeth Ringwood, dont know when they got married but there first child was born in 1914, Billericay, Essex. Rumour has it that they may of come from Ireland, but not been able to confirm this either, so this part of my tree is at a standstill. The other marriage I cannot find is Henry William Burnett who married and Elizabeth Ely. We think Henry came from Woolwich, Kent and Elizabeth from Pimlico, Kent??. Theu had their first child in 1887 in Woolwich, also named Henry William Burnett, but they did adopt a Walter Ely, (nephew), not sure when though but he was born in 1882 Any suggestions as to where I can go from here would be really appreciated, as my days are not the same without doing my family tree research.
