Births up to 1906 are available on ScotlandsPeople for anything after that date you need the Scottish GRO or to find someone visiting Edinburgh Records Office Maureen Available from ScotlandsPeople which is a pay to view site Statutory Registers Births 1855 - 1906 Marriages 1855 - 1931 Deaths 1855 - 1956 |

Thanks for that have tried online they seem to be way behind in years they have scanned. Guess a trip up north the only way forward peter |

Peter, put a thread on the Records Office Board asking if anyone lives locally and can kindly help. If you know mums exact birth date/place, you could try emailing or telephoning the relevant local office and seeing if they will send the birth cert like that (the English offices do) - I think its still £7 in Scotland isnt it people? |
