Hi can anyone help father said that he and his brothers where taken away to an all boys home he was aged 2, his mother married twice, but can not work our why children in home, any one got any ideas. also 2 of them had scarlet fever aged 3or 4. would it be for children whos fathers have died or awy at war. regards phyllis |

Phyllis It is possible the children were removed by the authorities, or possibly the mother could not afford to keep them - there was no Social Security in those days. Possibly it was only intended to be a short term arrangement, but once in a home, it was very difficult for ordinary people to get their children back again. Do you know the name of the home - the records should be somewhere. OC |
