I have a marriage cert with 'Silk Factor' as occupation. I've googled and can't find anything. Can anyone help me please? Deb:)

It probably means silk maker as in factor...factory etc.

Have a look at the people who live round them in a census people usually worked in the same industry in the same area. Mind you, on a marriage cert you say? Then its unlikely it would be abbreviated like that. It may well be this person has some sort of higher status - have you no other information on them? Look on the census for clarification
