Hello again just looked on family search again and they got married at Holy Trinity church in Hull which is where my mum still lives!!Guess where I am going on my next few days off!!! angie

Hi Victoria i have found their marriage on familysearch and its states 27/4/1835 so I need to know where they got married don't I and then try and visit to look at parish records Angie

Hi, I know you didn't ask me but I'm afraid to tell you you can't order a birth cert for before 1837. Have you tried familysearch? You may be able to find birth/baptism details on there. He you don't know how to use it, give me the details and I will look for you. Hope this helps. Vicky

Hi again Irene I forgot to ask, his parents were married in 1835 so where would I get a marriage certificate from or reference numbers such as the ones GRO ask for Thanks Angie

Hello Irene I've not long started researching so there are a few certificates I need to send for-his parents marriage and his birth certificate so thats my next move. thanks for the advice angie

what about the address that would be on the birth certicate and the mother's maiden name. The maiden name should be the same as the marriage cert for his parents. The other option is to buy the birth certificate of one of his siblings and get this information. Good luck

I have had so much help from lots of people on this site about my ggrandad edward/edwin lee and I now think after some info from Kath that Edward changed or mistranscribed his name to Edwin somewhere along the line.My query is (and apologies if I am just being thick) if I send for his birth certificate how do I know even then that it is the same person other than both Edward and Edwin have a father with the name Matthew.Is there ever any conclusive way of saying yes this is him definitely other than holding a seance and trying to find out that way!!!! Help................ Angie
