FANNY Gender: Feminine Usage: English Pronounced: FAN-ee [key] Pet form of FRANCES. Since the late 19th century this has been a vulgar slang word, and the name has subsequently dropped out of common use.

If your family member was Welsh, Fanny could be short for Myfanwy.
