After hearing how good FTM is, I bought it at last from ebay. However, just found out its a starter edition and to produce family tree charts etc, i have to upgrade (it will only produces a pedigree chart). Does anyone know how much this will cost? or would it work out cheaper to by another version? I feel such an idiot!

you can always look on ebay for a full edition. i bought the collectors edition from ebay last year and it saved me £20 on the shop price.

If it's FTM2005, you can upgrade for about £10 or if its 2006, you can purchse the full version for about the same. Sam x

I had FTM2005 and upgraded. I can't remember where it is now, is it in 'options' or 'help' on the toolbar at the top? One of these has the option to 'upgrade' and if you choose this, they send you an unlock key that you enter and it upgrades it straight away. Sam x

Was the one you bought advertised as starter edition - if not send it back. Maureen

no, it wasnt advertised as a starter pack. Personally, i think the cd cover itself is very deceiving and imo false advertising. It has 'starter edition' in very tiny writing at the top and pictures of family trees to give the impression that this is what the cd can produce. oh well, you live and learn! lol shellyx
