But in the parish record you will find a similar certificate but it will not have father's name on. It will say if either the bride or groom are from different parishes and it will include witnesses, which can be useful and are sometimes the parents! Anne

Greeting’s……… KC. Following the Rose Act of 1812. This standardised the Parish Registers into a pre printed register entries Three entries per page. This superseded the all hand written notes in the Ministers note book Which was taken as the Parish Registers. Information given on these entries usually Gives the Names of those marring with the parish they came from. But usually they were both put down as “of this Parish.” Following one of the named people taking up residence within the Parish For the required time to qualify. Otherwise two separate sets of banns being read within each Parish at a cost. Status :~ Bachelor, Spinster. or Widow , Widower or Minor Date of marriage. How the marriage was preformed either by Banns or Licence. Consent of Parents if applicable The signature of the officiating Minister. Signatures or Marks of those married Signatures or Marks of the witnesses. Sometimes the dates of the reading of the Banns is given across the top of entry. Hope this helps MIKE.
