hi has anyonebeen on thegenealogist(.)co(.)uk site. it says that most of the parish records and wills etc. have been transcribed and are available through them on line. you have to pay to view but haven't done it myself as alot of people say you can only view records like these at the place where they are held. |

I subscribe to this site, but there are a few parish records at present, but they are loading on more each month. Ken |

Sarah I have never bought a suscription to this site but I did have take up a free offer they had at the beginning of this year for a few units and couldn't find anything I was interested in :( I think the most annoying thing is that their main page does not offer a search of what the site offers in the way of specific parishes (before you buy) and to be honest I am not going to buy a subscription on the off chance they cover the counties, let alone specific parishes, I have an interest in! Of course I could be wrong and there is a 'What we cover' search facility (before you buy), and then someone will put me right, however they hide it well :( Chris *Update*.....I lied :) I did, once, buy a subscription to the site......I think it was for the 1841 index before the full census was available on Ancestry. |
