Just a little chuckle. I read your thread title as 'Relocating place of burial' I thought you were wanting to dig him up and plant him elsewhere. Margaret

hi anyone out there know how i can trace my grandfathers final resting place. my father was adopted and i have found out when my grandfather died etc and i have contacted the 3 local sites near his address when he passed and they have done a search but with no luck. i have been advised that as it was around war time he would not have been buried in the church grounds in his parish as they had been full for a long time ? and im not sure where else to look. my grandfather died in lambeth south london and i have tried the 3 local parish cemeteries ie nuneaton etc if anyone knows of another cemetery near that he may have been taken to i would be grateful to hear of this. archibald albert keen dob.1886 dod.20 oct 1944 at oswin street elephant and castle south london married at st judes church lambeth he never left lambeth area of london from his birth to his death so i cant see that he would have been buried far from that area. did the average person take out a death notice in a local paper advising when funeral was ? if so can i find archives from the local paper in south london at that time ? im at a loss. all i want is to put flowers on the grave and pay my respects it was not his wish for my father or his twin to be adopted it states that on my fathers adoption file but just the way in those day as he couldnt work and bring up two kids after my grandmother did a runnner. thanks to anyone if they can help me regards lynn
