Bridget, So where on eatth does Oliver come into things? You can't go on hunches because you're wasting a lot of people's time when they do lookups for you. You have to know the facts and this means ordering certificates. I saw another of your threads where you had the wrong father and date of birth for someone until you ordered their marriage certificate. Rose

Bridget you really need to get Olive's birth certificate. Just because you have found someone with the same surname in the same area does not make them related! You have to work backwards from you what you know to be true (Olive's birth) and get certificates along the way to prove relationships. If you assume ANYTHING, as I said earlier you could waste years of time and effort researching someone else's family and not your own. Sam x

Bridget Never mind This appears to be the birth registration Olive Annie Sandall March 1907 West Bromwich Volume: 6b Page: 875 You need to get a copy of this certificate before you do anymore. Cost is £7 from the GRO. Do you know how to do this? Sue

I cannot see a birth registration for an Olive Sandall in West Brom in 1903. Are you absolutely certain that she was born in West Brom You really need to locate Olive's Birth and obtain the certificate before going any further back. Start with yourself your parents and then work graduall back BUT you do really need to back up with certificates otherwise you can easily trace the wrong family. Sue

I assume this is his marriage: rElizabeth Hardy 1864 Apr-May-Jun West Bromwich Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire Joseph Holland 1864 Apr-May-Jun West Bromwich Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire Hannah Perry 1864 Apr-May-Jun West Bromwich Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire Oliver Sandall 1864 Apr-May-Jun West Bromwich Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire What makes you think Oliver and Oliver are related? You really need to get her birth certificate, you can't just assume! You could spend ages tracing the wrong family... If you get her birth certificate, it will name both parents. You should then be able to find them on the 1901 census and work back from there. If you get her b Sam x
