Do not really understand why you cannot take transcription at face value. England & Wales, FreeBMD Marriage Index: 1837-1983 about Rebecca Beddow Name: Rebecca Beddow Year of Registration: 1854 Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep District: St George Hanover Square County: London, Middlesex Volume: 1a Page: 400

St Georges, Hanover Square seems to be a kind of Gretna Green of the south. I have come across several couples getting married there and living as far away as Wiltshire & Berkshire. Ken

Kenneth I think the reason so many married in St George Hanover Square is that 1st it was a big area also servants would have been employed from all over... Gerri x

Hi Jim I hadn't actually typed Rebecca in search as I was going through images to find Beddows in Shropshire and Staffs and just came across her and stupidly didn't cross reference back to search page. I have found my Rebecca's marriage now in Warwickshire - not where I was looking at all. Cheers Clare
