I am trying to trace my father's siblings and have found the births of all of them except 1 brother. Albert Manning shows up on the 1901 census as being aged 7 and born in Millwall. All the children were born within this area. I thought he was Albert George born 1892 Poplar Ref. 1c 656. It shows on ancestry as Albert but when you view the page the name is Alfred George. I tried to get this certificate but they say the father's first name is incorrect. So it obviously is wrong. I have printed off all children born in Poplar between June 1891 when his brother George was born and April 1895 when his sister Louisa was born. There is a Berty born 1893 which I don't think would be it as all the children have been given 2 names. I have tried James Albert and that was incorrect. Now I am stuck. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. |

Could he be the one born in Islington? Perhaps his mother was visiting relatives when he was born? Name: Albert George Manning Year of Registration: 1892 Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec District: Islington County: Greater London, London, Middlesex Volume: 1b Page: 229 Kath. x |

Thank you Sam & Kath never thought to phone register office. I saw the Islington registration but thought that as they never seemed to go out of the area it was unlikely. However perhaps they were visiting and still put down Millwall for his birth. Worth giving it a try. Thank you. |
