I have searched and searched the 81 census for my family. I have William F Green born 1815 Langtoft Lincs and wife Mary/Ann born 1818 Deeping St James. In 61 and 71 they are living at Whaplode Bank, Whaplode Drove. On their marriage cert she is Ann. In all the census apart from 41 she is Mary A. I looked for a death for William and found an entry that fits, with correct age and place but it's in Sept Qtr 1881. The 81 census was taken 3rd April, so wonder if it's likely to be him? Absolutely nothing for Mary/Ann for the right age in the deaths. Presuming she was still alive in 81, she was definately not with any of her children as I've found them all. Would someone please look for me. An idea I had for William if he was alive when the census was taken and if this is his death record, that maybe he was ill in hospital and if anyone knows how to find the hospital around the Whaplode area. Hi Yummy I found those ppl, no its not them but thankyou. My William and Mary are at least consistent with their places of birth, he is always Langtoft and she is always Deeping St James or just Deeping, well up to the 71 census anyway. Carole xx

is there any chance he could have died b4 81 and she is using her maiden name?

The only death I found for William, right time and place is the Sept 1881, nothing else matches. Carole xx
