do the changes in the adoption laws help you?? Is it worth going back to the people / organisation that placed the adoption and seeing if they will help you search and then intermediate?? (Massive apologies if I have misunderstood the changes to the law) I think there is more help for birth siblings now to trace.

I have exactly the same problem, my sister was adopted at birth and all I have is her birth name ,place and year. If you find an avenue to find your sister I would be really gratefull if you could share the info. I hope you have some luck and I know how you feel. regards J.S.

As far as I understand the new laws, birth relatives now have the right to register a wish for contact. A search will be done for your adopted relative and a discreet approach will be made, telling them that Granny/a sister/an Auntie would like contact and the ball is then in the adopted person's court. Your nearest Social Services Department will tell you more about this scheme. Good luck. OC
