Hi everyone. alot of you may know of it already but if you want to know what sort of area your ancestors lived in (granted its the area as it is now) just download google earth the free version and all you have to do is either type in the place or the address and it will zoom you in. Have fun. Danny

Better still try www(.)old-maps(.)co(.)uk This has maps from the late 1880's. Just type in place, postcode or street and see a map of the area in victorian times. Ken

Tried both of these - Daniel's and Kenneth's suggestions. Daniel's is very useful, and easy to use. The 'old maps' site is facinating! Thanks for sharing the info. Bx
