Hi, I'm trying to find the death ref of a great aunt that I've recently traced. Her name was Eleanor Betty Matthews (nee Hyland). She was born 26 March 1915, Meriden. I found her phone number and address from old phone listings and a rellie in England sent off a letter to the address. She got a call back from the resident saying that an old lady called Ellie lived there before but died about 4 yrs ago. I can't find her death ref and need help. Thanks......Deb:)

Have looked on Ancestry but nothing from 2000-2004. for either Eleanor or Ellie Shirley

Very strange isn't it? I wonder if the resident got it wrong. I've searched current phone listings and come up with nothing. I'm not sure where to look for her next. Any suggestions? Deb:)

As you know the address maybe someone local to that area, - on GR ...or maybe the local library, .. would do an electoral roll search to see when she disappeared off the lists. They could work back from recent times. Memory plays tricks and if it was after 2004, Ancestry wouldn't show it. This would also confirm whether it was the right Ellie. Gwyn
