I have hit a wall ... I have lots of Stradwicks from Middlesex/Greater London in my tree (occasionally transcribed as Stredwick or Strudwick) One relative was even written as Spudwick (didn't even think to try that spelling - found it by sheer luck!) Anyway have got back as far as c1756 and can't find a way of knowing which ones are mine - there are hundreds of Henrys, Williams and Richards! How do I do the next step? I've checked the parish registers and batch numbers with parents names inserted, but some are missing, some have only surnames or no names as parents and most of the siblings I've looked at are baptised in different parishes anyway!! Am close to becoming bald with all the hair pulling I'm doing!! Any advice greatly received :o) |

OOh - I have an Elizabeth Stradwick (Strudwick) from Guildford born c. 1770. There is a special website for Strudwicks. Hold on - I'll be back in a minute with the details! |

ave been there already and found lots of census details etc, but when I registered with the Strudwicke forum I was sent an email which said 'Your account is currently inactive, the administrator of the board will need to activate it before you can log in. You will receive another email when this has occured.' That was 2 months ago!! |

That's a shame. Marcus got back to me quite quickly. Of course, it is possible that he has been away over Easter. I suppose it isn't like a business where someone is always available. Perhaps if you haven't heard soon you could contact him again. Best of luck. |

Thanks for replying Elizabeth, I will give him another try. By the way, you don't happen to have any Stradwicks from East London, the Bethnal Green and Shoreditch areas, do you???? |

Andrea I too have a StrAdwick, Frances, born in Sussex but married a Charles Pearson in Wandsworth! I 'spoke' to Marcus only a couple of days ago as I found a few stray Stru/a/edwicks in Hampstead while trawling the parish registers for other names. PM me and I will let you have his addy....He won't mind :) I am sure he will be happy to sort out your access problems to the site. Chris |
