original birth certificate

My husband was adopted at the age of 2 following the death of his mother. How does he go about getting his original birth certificate. He only has a shortened version which does not name his mother or father. he is not sure what his surname was when he was born but does know his birth mothers name. Any help would be gratefully received. |

but his shortened version will give the name he was reg with and the year etc u should be able to find a Gro ref to order the full version, if you want a search then PM me and i will take a look. give me ALL the details he has from the version hes got Shirley |
