Please can someone tell me how I go about finding the birth cert of someone born in Kirkdale Ireland in 1824. thank you for your help Jane

familysearch*org change * for . may have it listed but info on there does need verifiying. i was told of a site called emerald ancestors but havent used it yet.

You won't find a birth certificate for 1824. Official registration only commenced in Ireland in 1845 (1837 in England). You won't find any Irish birth registrations though before 1862 (I think). I have nudged the Irish Research Tips thread which may help you. Paul

Which county is this Kirkdale in ireland? Might you not mean Kirkdale in Yorks/lancs. Lots of Irish people came to Kirkdale Lancs. What surname are you searching for? M
