Thank you Gary I emailed them today, and unfortunately the Banns did not give any more information about birth place. As I am unable to find a birth register in Fulham, which is the place it says she is born on all the cenuses, they suggest I look through the baptisms for around 1860 -of which there were seven churches in existance at this time in Fulham and Hammersmith. They have baptism record for six, not indexed. Just now need to find the time to travel to London from the Isle of Wight to do the search. Anyone in Fulham area able to assist in this search please PM for full details Thanks all Joanna |

Joanna Don't want to dash your hopes, but very often people SAID they were from the parish where they were marrying, as it saved on the cost of having the Banns read twice. Still, you will never know if you don't look! OC |

Di Have read the description and it gives me some hope as I says it mentions where the person is from and this may therefore give me the extra info I need, as can not find her birth registered. Now to find where St Pauls Church, Hammersmith 1879 marriages details are held. Thanks Joanna |

I think that banns only gave name of bride and groom, their parish and the dates the banns were read in the church. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banns_of_marriage Di |
