This is the only one close - her father is a Joiner/Carp (I have a rellie who is variously described as a Joiner, Carpenter, Wheelwright) and Shropshire isn't that far from Chester... Where do you actually get Chester from? It is a different county than Hoole and Rockferry. I have their marriage cerificate, they were married at the registry office Chester in the borough & county of Chester, Hoole is a district in Chester as far as I was aware. My Grandfather was born in Rockferry which is the Wirral I think, all not so far away. sue

Ah right, I had no idea where any of the places were but when I Googled, Hoole came up as being near Preston in Lancashire. Now you have said that, I see that there is more than one and one of them is a village near Chester. Sam x

Hi I live in chester and i used to live at number 53 westminster rd hoole and just so you know hoole is right in chester not near. Easy mistake to make. Danny

Both surnames are Welsh.........Chester is very close to the Welsh border. Have you looked at the possibility of both having been born in Wales? Reg

Reggie Yes have looked but as you say both welsh names and so many of them for their particular birth years just can't seem to get any where, if I could get a census thread in 1901, 1891 then maybe through siblings I could find out mothers names, but at the moment not getting very far very fast :-{ Sue

Reggie Thanks for this, as Hannah was 25 in 1911 when she married I can eliminate some of these as they would have been too young. Is this just a check on Welsh 1901 census? Sue
