How can I find out if an ancestor emigrated?

Linda I cant see him in 1901, I have also looked at the Marriage & Birth indexes for New South Wales but I cant see any Boyard's. Georgina. |

Thanks Georgina and Sam have tried several times to track him but nothing John Enoch Boyard born 1869 Walsall Staffs, Father Robert mother Ann last definate for him was October 1900 on his fathers death cert his address was Spout Lane Walsall Staffs |

He could even just be really badly mistranscribed in 1901. Have you tried posting the details on here to see if anyone else can find him? Sam x |

Linda who is it you are looking for? Could he have been fighting in the Boer War & that's why he isn't on the 1901 census? Georgina. |

Thanks, I have no idea at the moment, could possibly be australia but that's a long shot. someone related by marriage has suggested a photo he has of children in Australia might be the missig mans children.I'm clutching at straws but that's all I can do at the moment will check that web site just in case |

Emigrated to where, I assume you don't know? There are loads of passenger lists available, try Google. The most famous site is www.ellisisland.org for people who emigrated to the USA through Ellis Island in New York between 1892 and 1954. It may be worth you trying that site - you need to register but it is free. Sam x |
