I have just been told by Family Ulster that they can't find the birth of my grandmother or the marriage of her parents in County Down. I wondered if this disc could maybe help!! Betty

Not sure what you mean by disc 2. I have BVRI, second edition which consists of 16 discs. Is there something you'd like me to look for? Margaret

Hi Margaret, Thanks yes I could do with a lookup I am so fedup, been told by Family Ulster after 4 weeks of searching various years they can't find my grandmother's birth ot her parents marriage. The information I have is my Grandmother Mary Carney would have been born in Newry County Down around 1880 give or take a year either side. Her parents were John Carney and Mary Kennedy who I think married in the same area about 1877 also give or take a year either side. Could you please have a look on your disc for them!! Betty

Certainly there are Irish marriages, Betty. It has the one for my great-great-grandparents in 1848.

Betty - I was only hopeful they were mine (after someone else found them). It was years later, after various other things linked together that I knew 99.9% for sure that they were mine - part of that due to the naming pattern of my grandmother's siblings.

Hi Marion, I know when my grandmother was born and where she was born I even have the name of her brother who had a hairdressers shop in Newry County Down along with her father. Its trying to get the informaion on BMD's that is the problem. Betty

Betty - that is fantastic knowing where and when! Now - I am giving a nudge to a thread that gives the LDS centres that have Irish civil registration, where you can go and search for the registration and then order the certificate.

Hi Marion, Sorry for the late reply but I had a phone call from my sister-in-law in Elgin and we always have a good old blether for about an hour or so. Yes it is good that I know where and when my grandmother and her family were in Ireland but its not much good when I can't confirm the information with birth and marriage certificates or anything. Thanks for the nudge of the other link I will just go and have a look now. Sorry for the late reply!!. Betty
