Try as I might, I can't find Benjamin and his wife Ann in the 1851 census. They married in 1848 at Checkley. Thanks Glitter Baby - that is them. Benjamin was a victualler, he moved south as did his sister Ann who married John Newton and from whom my husband is descended. I thought they might have had an earlier child.

I found a couple of the children for 1871 but no parents. It looks as though Ann was dead.

It's probably them because of the unusual name, and it was probably where Harriett came from.
