If your search for a particular name comes up blank on one or two quarters, try entering a surname that comes just before the one you want alphabetically. IE. I was looking for FLEW and came across a few blank quarters. I searched using FLETCHER and there they were. The reason is that some additional FLETCHERs were added by hand at the bottom, so the end of the page was seen as FLETCHER so missing out any names between the last printed FLETCHER and the last printed surname on the page. Am I making any sense?

...and if you are trawwling for births and find a positive hit , you can skip the next two quarters, quite often 3.
